ECOLOGICALLY RESPONSIBLE DRAINAGE
Hydrorock Type D units can be used to buffer and draining in an environmentally friendly way.
The Hydrorock infiltration units have an intricate fibrous structure facing in one direction. This vertical facing of the fibres stimulates buffering and infiltration when blocks are placed in a standing position. A horizontal direction of the fibres however stimulates drainage. The blocks are to be placed lying down for drainage of surface and rain water. Due Hydrorock’s unique properties, a gradient is not required for proper drainage.
Drainage with Hydrorock, also applicable for…
- prevention of flooding or desiccation in rural areas;
- improving the ecology of the ground: everything grows and thrives better with Hydrorock®;
- restore the local water balance and a cleaner ‘nutrition’ of groundwater.
Easy installation Type D – horizontal
Hydrorock® block are available in slim blocks of different sizes. The enormous buffering capacity and its dimensions limit the necessary digging activities. The blocks are placed either next to each other or behind each other and thus form the desired buffering and infiltration system.
For drainage, the blocks should be placed in a horizontal position (lying down). The ‘this side up’ sticker, meant for buffering and infiltration, should then be on the side. Due Hydrorock’s unique properties, a gradient is not required for proper drainage. Only the digging of small trenches is required and the cost for the removal of surplus soil is limited. In other words, flexibility and simplicity.
